When I lived in Mexico Jen and I ran hundreds of miles together - she was my trail running partner. When we would run the trails at Montereycillo I would always stop and take pictures of flowers, now that I'm back home and Jen is still in Mexico she sends me pics of my flowers and trails from Mexico. I of course reciprocate and send her pictures of flowers and views from my north woods trails. My last two trail runs have been lacking in the flowers but there has been a plethora of fungi -
Last Tuesday I did nine miles of the North Country Trail in Wisconsin (Upson Lake to Foster Falls) and today I did 10 miles on the North Country Trail in Michigan (County Rd 519 to Rainbow Falls). Both sections of the trail are awesome and well marked.
Today I ran into a guy who was finishing hiking the North Country Trail across the UP. He told me that he encountered someone running the trail across the UP - not gonna lie - I'm envious
