Yesterday after my 10k run at -22C my good friend Kevin wrote, "You ain’t right!", but I ain't wrong!
I live on Spring Camp Road and today I ran 8.5 km (round trip) to the appropriately named Spring Camp Falls. It was -28C when I left and -24C when I got back. I spent some time thinking about the difference between running in Torreon when it is 35 - 40 degrees and here when it is -30. Both conditions can kill you, the difference is in the heat you can stop and rest (presumably in the shade) while in the bitter cold stopping is what kills you - either way, for some explicable reason (not sure what that reason is) I love the extremes.
It may be cold, but after my run I met my son Doug at Cold Iron with Deb for some cold beer - what could be better on a frigid day than cold beer?
I hate snowmobiles with a passion, they are loud and obnoxious. However when they are not around I do like running on their trails.
As low as the sun is you would think it's late afternoon - no, it's around noon.
I thought running to the falls would be a good idea - I was disappointed. There was almost no open water and you couldn't see the falls.
Yep, this is the falls - they are not spectacular falls but they are pretty - except of course when temperatures are what they are now - oh, well - it was still a scenic run
